Ione A. Rodriguez, LMFT

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here in San Antonio, TX. I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I specialize in supporting those struggling with trauma, shame, grief, relationship issues and anxiety. I am particularly passionate about working with adults who have experienced abuse and neglect in childhood. I also have extensive experience in working with teens who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and self harming behaviors.

As a queer therapist, I am also proud to serve and provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

I consider myself an eclectic therapist and use a variety of evidence based theories such as Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. I strive to make therapy collaborative while also providing some guidance and useful skills along the way. My personality is warm and compassionate, with a touch of dorkiness. I often have clients describe talking to me as like talking to one of their friends.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, playing video games, board games, and Dungeons & Dragons (I’m a huge nerd!) I also enjoy hiking, running, and spending time in nature.
